Ron Copeland has been doing photography since 2003. In 2006 he started working as a screen printer at the Engravers Gallery in Massillon. With their generosity and support Ron began silk screening as  a new artistic medium. His paintings and photography have recently been displayed in various galleries and shows locally as well as in Akron, Cleveland, and many other venues.

Copeland's work explores the once booming industrial companies  of the area that are now in decay. The juxtaposition of old abandoned  buildings and machinery rendered in bright colored images require the viewer to contemplate the radical changes to our economy. Copeland is fascinated with archiving images of places that are soon to be torn down.

Copeland's show an amazing sucess!

Chillin' at an art show has always been where the 'avant garde' and fashionable are. There was no acceptation here in Massillon.
Saturday March 29th was an unforgettable night We had over 200 people attend!  Many artists from the area were in attendance including Scot Phillips, Angela Battista, Megan Mars & Steve Ehret. Massallonians of every demo graphic came! All of the Artsy kids came to hang out downtown and experience the food, live music and art!

A new trend among artists it sell low-dollar items affordable to all. Many people know of the powerful art movement happening here in Stark County and are starting collections of their own. Ron's vinyl stickers of 'Atomic-Girl', grenades and gun-wielding penguins were sold along with many small prints of Copeland's fascinating photography. This started off several Massillon Artists collectors.

Special thanks to Julie of the Ananda Center And Denise (Copeland's lady) for all the delicious treats that were available at the show.

Jherrid Reeder played guitar and sang beautifully, if you didn't get to hear his talent, you missed out on some great original tunes!

Ron Copeland's Screen prints, photography and adhesive vinyl design were a big hit. So much in fact that he sold over $400 worth of art!

Why drive out to that 'urban sprawl' when the most interesting and exciting happening right here in downtown? Downtown is the cool place to be on Saturday night.
With the success of the Copeland show, we anticipate an even larger attendance to our next downtown event! Don't come just to support the arts, come because that's where all your friends and the other cool kids will be!
